About the company

Established Proton Solutions was created by a group of experienced proton dosimetrists and medical physicists. We understand the many challenges of proton therapy, in particular, how difficult it can be to find the right team members.

The EPS team has become one of the largest bodies of proton experience in the country. Through secure remote planning, evaluation, and analysis, we provide the benefit of experienced staff where and when they are needed.

Services we offer

Treatment planning

EPS planners are familiar with all proton modalities and can handle all treatment sites from simple to complex. We can follow client's existing methods, or provide an outside perspective.

QA CT analysis

Many clinics choose to perform regular CT scans of patients under treatment for possible adaptive planning. Our experienced staff can analyze the performance of the current plan on the latest scan and flag possible issues.

Plan robustness evaluation

Plan robustness is crucial in proton therapy. Our physics staff simulates possible uncertainties the ideal plan may face in day to day treatment and provides a report on any likely deviations.

The EPS Team

Alex Goughenour, CMD, CEO

Alex started his health care career in Medical Laboratory Science by graduating from West Virginia University and serving the people of his home state, West Virginia. He completed formal medical dosimetry training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, graduating in 2014 with honors. His medical dosimetry career has since taken him around the country, starting in photon clinics, on to three separate proton centers, and as far as Alaska. He is passionate about innovation in our field and pushing forward efficiencies for the benefit of patients.

In forming EPS, Alex has brought together a large network of proton therapy professionals with diverse experience, ready to meet the needs of any clinic. The strength in the EPS model is the elastic work capacity. With a large number of planners available, work can always be distributed to a skilled professional ready to take it on.
